We survived Daytona Bike Week and had a great time vending at Pub 44 in New Smyrna Beach. First and foremost, we’d like to thank everyone at Pub 44 for their support and hospitality.
We greatly appreciate the owners, Kevin, Scott & Nick, allowing us to host our daily 22 Kill push-up challenges and all the help from Jeremy Miller of Awake Late & DJ Josh Boggs, in orchestrating our events in between transition of bands.
The Hollowpoint Shot
We kicked off Bike Week with a Hollowpoint Apparel Pre-Bash Party at Pub 44 on Wednesday, March 2. DJ Cool Kat donated his time and services to provide great music for our group and lead our first push-up challenge. Pub bartender, Diane, aka Crush, concocted a special Hollowpoint Shot for us with a portion of proceeds donated to 22Kill.com.
live on-air at fox 35 Orlando
On Friday, March 5 we visited Fox 35 Orlando for a live on-air challenge with Jayme King and John Brown. Our brand manager, Kathy Browning, and DJ Cool Kat went to the studio to represent Hollowpoint Apparel and talk about the important work 22Kill.com is doing to help our Veterans.
Check out the video here. These guys cranked them out in no time!
Goat, glow rilla & the disgruntled clown
It's not every day that we get to hang out with celebrities, but throughout the week we enjoyed the company of Goat from the reality show, Full Throttle Saloon, our very own GlowRilla mascot, and The Disgruntled Clown.
Each of these individuals went out of their way to help us rally the crowd and promote our fundraiser and challenges.
We really enjoyed hanging out with them and appreciate all their help and support!
DJ Josh Boggs loaned us Glow Rilla; our amazing pink gorilla mascot! Glow Rilla, aka Thomas donned a Hollowpoint Apparel T-shirt and wore it proudly as he posed for photos with the crowd and engaged in push-ups.
Our volunteer drill instructors
We’d also like to thank the local business owners who took time out of their day to volunteer as drill instructors. They include:
Jon & Heather Hinson of Hinson Photography
Michele Boyer, Keyes Realtor at BuyNSBHomes.com
Lacey Homan, U.S. Army Reserve
Rob Maxwell of Maxwell’s Fitness Programs
Nick Griffin of Full Contact Ministries
Mary Gelow-Dessoye of Orbit Performing Arts Academy
Tammy Perry of Zumba with Tammy
DJ Kool Cat
We’d also like to thank Jon and Heather Hinson of Hinson Photography for leading a push-up challenge and providing us with professional photographs that fully captured the essence of Bike Week. View their gallery here.
And, of course, we extend our gratitude to Brent Eite of Focal Point Videography for donating his time to film the big event on Friday night. Although he wasn’t able to use the drone due to substantial radio frequency interference, Brent delivered this fabulous video.
Focal point videography #22Kill push-up challenge with boston at pub 44
The team at Pub 44 was amazing to work with and very supportive of our cause. Everyone pulled together and worked hard to ensure guests and vendors had a good time. The number of people who gathered for the concerts and to enjoy the Bike Week festivities was overwhelming at times. I can’t imagine the pressure on the staff to stay on top of their game, but they gave their all and we applaud them!
Last, but not least, thank you to everyone who stopped by the Hollowpoint Apparel booth and purchased our tees, tanks, hats, headbands and coozies. It is very rewarding to see so many people wearing our clothing and telling their friends and families about us.
If you weren’t able to make it to Bike Week, you can still order your favorite Hollowpoint Apparel via our online store. Stay tuned as we unveil more new designs and participate in upcoming outdoor enthusiast events.
